The history of Lubella began in the late 19th century, more than 140 years ago, when brothers Edward and Henryk Krausse (or Krauze — both spellings are correct) bought a mill in Lublin that also served as a paper mill. In 1881, they built a modern steam mill on the same site, which was a tremendous innovation for the time. Known as the Krausse brothers’ mill or Krauze’s mill, it quickly gave them a significant competitive edge. A key date in the mill’s history is 1894, when Edward Krausse sold his share of the mill to his brother Adolf.
